The 15th IUFoST Congress scheduled for August 22-26 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa is now approaching rapidly and food scientists and technologists from all over the world are starting to make their plans to attend what will be a world class event! Our call for papers which closed early in February attracted no less than 1329 abstracts from 77 countries - a truly impressive turnout that is indicative of the quality and breadth of research that will be on view at the Congress, as well as highlighting the global nature of our profession. In addition, over 40 top speakers from both commercial and academic fields have accepted invitations to address the Congress and this number continues to grow. The full program is now available on this website and the names of some of the top speakers can be seen on this homepage.
Plans for the exhibition, technical tours and social program are also progressing well, ensuring that delegates will have ample opportunities to meet and network in our magnificent Cape Town venue.
Registration for the Congress has been open since November and our early registration deadline has been extended to June 30th. We urge delegates to register at reduced rates before the deadline. Full details of registration procedures and costs are on the website in the Second Announcement. Further information on the Congress is also available under the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the website.
The South African Association for Food Science and Technology (SAAFoST) would like to extend an invitation to food scientists and technologists from throughout the world to join us for a world class global event with an African feel in Cape Town in August!
