Hi Vin,

When you say guideline do you mean an actual copy of the standard?

Simon

Hi Vin, :welcome:

The core documents related to ISO 9000 series are:

ISO 9000:2000, Quality management systems – Fundamentals and vocabulary
ISO 9001:2000, Quality management systems – Requirements
ISO 9004:2000, Quality management systems – Guidelines for performance improvements
ISO 19011:2002, Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing
ISO Handbook:2002, ISO 9001:2000 for small businesses – What to do, Advice from ISO/TC 176

You have to purchase above standards and guidelines. These are not free ;) . Hope you can understand what’s the difference between guideline and standard in international language of standardization.

Following are the authenticated websites where you can find almost every information about any standard or guideline developed by ISO or IAF or other bodies.

http://www.iaf.nu/ - International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
http://www.iso.org/ - International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
http://www.tc176.org/ - ISO Technical Committee no. 176, Quality Management and Quality Assurance (ISO/TC 176)
www.iso.org/tc176/sc2 - ISO/TC 176, Sub-committee no.2, Quality Systems (ISO/TC 176/SC 2)

For "ISO 9000 Introduction and Support Package" guidance documents from ISO/TC 176 SC2 go to ISO TC/176/SC2 Home Page (http://isotc.iso.org...t...e&sort=name)

Here you can find free documents to download and study comfortably.

N524 – Guidance on ISO 9001:2000, Clause 1.2 'Application'
N525 – Guidance on the Documentation requirements of ISO 9001:2000
N526 – Guidance on the Terminology used in ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9004:2000
N544 – Guidance on the Concept and Use of the Process Approach
N630 – Guidance on Outsourced Processes

Hope this will work... ....However if you still have some confusions or problems, ask the that specific question regarding QMS which is disturbing you.

For general awareness on ISO, its standards and guidelines there is a lot of material available on internet. If you have access to net, just start to search with keywords like "ISO" or "ISO 9001" etc. :smarty:

Regards,
Zeeshan.

Good stuff, Zeeshan

@ vin, Also, If you try googling things like "ISO 9000 quality manual" or "iso 9000 quality procedure" there is a lot of free in-depth model examples available on the net. ;)

Dear QM Beauty,

I tried the "acrobat" symbols on a few of the articles. All gave "404"s, ie nothing there. Now checking my system for bugs

Vin,

There is so much information out there that sometimes it can be confusing. Here is a bunch of information from our site that might help you... I'm not going to get to technical because is sounds like you are in the beginning stages, but you should be able to get plenty of information from our site. Here are a few of the more popular articles.

If you want to help out members here in a sincere way please post snippets of advice from your articles or whole articles here and as you already have a signature set linking to your website you will get fair advertisement from that. The more you post and help out here the more your signature will be seen.

By the way you have resources spelt incorrectly in your signature.

Regards,
Simon
