Hi
was hoping someone could give me some advice on records/documentation. We are aiming for the BRC Food standard, to minimize the quantity of papers in the factory I have thought of using A3 paper with records on both sides, for example one side would be for production checks, other side will have metal detection, and pre-start checks, so I will have 3 separate documents on one piece of paper, is this acceptable under the standard? Hope ive explained it properly!!!!
thanks

Hi
pre start up checks are when operatives check their machines, BBD, Batch No's etc, like a check sheet.

so I will have 3 separate documents on one piece of paper,

MY view would be if you can have the integration under 1 common issue no, you can do whatever you like so long as you do not have a problem with document control and amendments (if any later). Its your system and its the way the want it done.............no one can say its wrong if the planned intended objectives are achieved.. But the approach (if messy) may not go down well with the auditor who may need to cross-reference information.........thats another chapter.

Sue sod the auditor; if it meets the requirements and works, do what you like.

I'm sure Sting will be happy you're thinking of the Rain Forests. I'll let him know the next time I see him.

Simon

Hia
the documents wont be under single issue, so no probs with document control, and like you say will help to save the rainforests, and will make the clipboards lighter!!! look good if we aim for an environmental standard too

Sue
