Obtain a copy of PAS 220 and verify that your PRP's meet the criteria that is outlined there. We did the same upgrade a few months ago and did not run into any major issues.

Hello,

I came across your entry on the forum and thought i might be helpful for you if you joined the LRQA webinar next week. Its free and will cover FSSC 22000.

You can have a look at the full details here:
http://www.lrqa.com/...tification.aspx

We also have a recorded webinar about this topic. I am not the expert on food, i work with our expert Cor groenveld to help promote our free resources to those who may be interested. Register for the event if you think it will help you! Even if you dont make the live event you will be sent a recording if you register.

Feel free to pass this onto your colleagues.

Hope to see you there!

Sarah

Dear sujitfni,

I agree with TSmith obtaining a copy of PAS 2200 is your first step. Once you have it you will certainly have more questions and will be in a position to start thinking about how you move your organisation from ISO 22000 to FSSC 22000. When you are ready we can help you with that.

Regards,
Simon

Congratulations on your upgrade! I hope you found it a worthwhile experience and that your audit went well.

Can you fill us in on any issues that may have been found? It is always interesting to hear what different auditors find. It seems like the focus is always changing based on issues with the industry and what the auditors find at other places.

Our initial ISO 22000 audit occurred right after the peanut issue in the US and since we do nut roasting that was the main focus. When we upgraded to FSSC the auditor focused on PAS 220 and in particular local environment (including our neighbors) and destruction of goods (including obsoleted packaging). The surveilance audit this year went more into our documentation (they were digging a little deeper because the surface looked real good).

They did bring up allergens in vending machines. Not so much that they were there but whether we did a risk assessment. In one plant we have there is not much of a point because we have all most major allergens (soy, wheat, peanut, tree nut, dairy, egg, sulfites). Our second plant only has dairy, soy and egg so they questioned whether we call it a "nut free" facility.

Anything you could share would be a great learning experience for the rest of us.
