Hello,

It all depends on how much info you wanna put in the data system. Here they used 'Well mentained' and 'Ultimo' ... Of course first you have to put all the data into the system...which too forever as it was complicated - well according to the person who had that job. Overall special software was too complicated and expensive...

As it all took forever and there was no list I put everything in Excel. A simple Excel sheet saying when the pumps need to be checked etc.

Date - Subject - who needs to do the job...

So think first about who's going to use the program.

Good luck!

Anne

You will get the software along with the swaps machine - from Biotrace or people who supplies similar aquaclean instruments.
Its really good - but the swaps are more expensive.

We use Megamation... pretty straight forward...

  • set up to issue automatic work orders for
  • PMO- preventative maintenance for machinary -- input machine/ frequency/ signoffs/ deviations/ food safety comment
  • PMO - set up for greasing, oiling, bearing check, seal replacements..ets
  • Premise checks- daily work order to examine building exterior - water pressure- pooling water- debris removal
  • air filter check & replacements- automate to change every 3 months- list all filters, type and notes if excessively dirty
  • water filter checks & replacement
Nice aspect is its automated nature to print out the work orders for the day, week, month.
Still a pain to collect, review, store all of the paperwork, but our government inspectors think its the bomb ! :)

However the more time you put into it is the more you'll get out of it.... full time position to set-up

Our company uses Manager's Plus software which we are currently implementing for sanitation as well. There are different levels of software that you can obtain depending on your needs. IMO, purchasing and implementing software to track and maintain all this information is well worth the price! (And yes, auditors LOVE when you can print out reports in seconds with no effort! Also good selling point to management - better tracking of parts/maintenance labor = money saved in long run!)

Seriously engineers and software programs, In my experience it's hard enough getting them to fill a simple form in. Unless of course they can do it on overtime.

Simon, I came across this thread while looking for info on preventative maintenance and maintenance logs. I got a good chuckle at your comments on the difficulty of getting maintenance engineers to fill out paperwork! So true.

They'll be the death of me, I swear!!!

They certainly are a breed of their own.

Great stuff Simon!

I've managed to finally convince upper management that if our Manintenance Manager doesn't do something about PM, sanitation, and general documentation programs that we'll fail certification, and now I'm getting some (begrudged) cooperation. We'll see how long that lasts!

Spot on Simon - I thought it was a local problem for us. They cant or don't want to do anything or paperwork but somehow the magic ability pops up when the is overtime.
You gotta endure them.

One question should the Maintenance Programme SOP (Including Preventative Maintenance) be under maintenance or QA Manuals, (Assuming maintenance have a manual.)

If you use a program called Manager's Plus and you expect an engineer to use it, then you don't understand engineers.

Now, if the software was called Bonus Beer, or Grease Plus, or maybe even, Get Management Off Your Back then you have a chance.

I hope that wasn't defamatory. I know nothing about the program in question, just engineers.
