 We passed our final certification audit and completed all of our corrective action items towards the end of last year, but we've got the actual official physical certificate today!

Then we moved facilities (and are still "moving in" to be honest) and just went through a verification audit on the new facility . That went well so we'll be getting the updated with the new address certificates soon!

Our FSSC auditor was here the same time that the state inspector was here to issue us our licence. Nothing like industry and governmental auditors in at the same time!

Congratulations!

Do you mind to share the audit findings with us? It will be helpful for many in heading towards new dimensions of continual improvement.

The biggest things we needed to address in corrective action items are:

-Better (more thorough) "root cause analysis" in corrective and preventive action reports.
-Needed to get my certified HACCP manager certificate and certified internal auditor certificate. I had been on the job for roughly 4 months, taking up after the old QA manager left for a new company. The certification classes were scheduled, but I was working awfully hard to get everything finished and organized and implemented prior to the audit.
-Wanted the internal audit format revised.
-Consolidation of several different reporting forms to a single format and single form to ease location of records and tracking of produced items.
-Employees scribbling out or using white-out for corrections rather than a single line strikethrough.
-Need to revise HACCP plan for new facility
-Need to address housekeeping and foreign material concerns present when manufacting WHILE constructing. Boy, do I have lots of pathways, tack mats, and plastic sheeting corridors strung up around here!
