Frustration is the exact word. You can certainly use the Issue 5 guidance for those things that are similar to Issue 6. Or can you? Has the guidance changed? I guess we will not know for certain until July.
This is my biggest beef. I too am trying to certify for the first time. It's frustrating enough getting buy in from senior management, even though they want certification
to happen. It's frustrating trying to take existing policies and procedures, tweak them to comply with the standard and then train them out to the masses, not knowing if you are actually hitting the nail on the head. It's extremely frustrating that the publisher of the standard can't manage to publish a guide to meeting the intent of the standard at the same time that they publish the standard.
One would think that if the goal of a GFSI standard is to ensure the safety of food, the guidance to implement said standard would have as much thought and precedence as the publication of the standard itself.
