Hi All,

I am looking for a template document to write a shelf life report for confirmation of shelf life of our product that i need to send this report to my costumer.

I need to include organoleptic and micro results in it.

Please share your experience and expertise about what should be included in the report.

Could any shelf-life testing procedure be shared?

Thank you.

Hi Vassy,

:welcome:

Welcome to the IFSQN forums.

Your shelf life protocol would depend on the product and the cold chain capabilities.

For a fresh product with a 3 week life (21 days) that is held within your food chain for 3 days a typical protocol would be:

3 days @ 5 °C to replicate your cold chain controls

18 days @ 8 °C to replicate domestic refrigeration

I would normally be test products to end of life plus 2 days to add some confidence in the shelf life, so:

3 days @ 5 °C to replicate your cold chain controls

20 days @ 8 °C to replicate domestic refrigeration

Kind regards,

Tony

Hi Vassy,

Just to add that there are a substantial variety of detailed shelf-life testing Procedures scatttered within this Forum. Some with text book examples and references.

The specifics may particularly vary considerably with the Location/Product/Process/Packing/Storage.

Some further details might be helpful.

Kind Regards,

Charles.C
