Dear colleagues, please assist on this one. The new food safety certification system (FSSC) instructs that gasoline forklifts should not be used in the warehouses handling food products. Does this rule out the use of LPG forklifts as well? Please assist. Birya.

Can members give a 'heads up' on the type of forklifts you use at your plants?

Thanks,
Simon

In the US poultry industry, I have only seen electric fork lifts and pallet jacks used for the past several years. I would think that you might have some of the same concerns with LPG as with gasoline, e.g., what potential effects do the fumes have on product?

LPG is regarded the same as gasoline.
