What a great idea Caz.  In a word Yes, I can certainly do that.

Do you have an examples to show me for ideas on what to include.

It may have to be provided as a download, but it can be done.

Thanks,
Simon

Q8. How are the hours of CPD calculated?
A8. Core CPD hours are calculated by the hour. Supplementary CPD attracts CPD credits at a rate of 50% - ie one hour of supplementary CPD provides 0.5 hours’ credit against the standard 20 hour requirement. At least half of the CPD undertaken in any year must comprise core hours.

Q9. What is the difference between core and supplementary CPD?
A9. Core CPD includes any activity which assists you directly in your professional / working capacity. It includes technical and management courses, training on new and existing legislation and all environmental health subjects.

Supplementary CPD includes activities such as learning languages or IT skills which support your professionalism. There are shades of grey between core and supplementary categories, and it may depend on the purpose for which the course is undertaken. For instance, learning a language for personal leisure purposes is clearly supplementary CPD, whilst a learning a language to improve, say, delivery of the port health function may be justified as core CPD.

I'm sure that the webinair, as it is directly relevant to the majority of our jobs, can qualify as a core CPD. This means for every hour attended, and hours CPD can be acheived.

All you need is a cert to say that Joe Bloggs attended 1 hours training in Subject towards their CPD

Thinking about it for a CPD certificate to be recognized it would need to be personalized with the attendees name (at the very least).  With that in mindy it is not as easy as a simple download.  This would have to be a manual operation and that would cost admin time.  Are CPD certifcates normally provided FOC?

Simon

Ok, so the certificate doesn't need your name on it and it is still recognized for CPD?
