From the Food Standards Agency: The Engine Shed recalls various batches of their vacuum-packed Organic Tofu due to a potential risk of botulism

 

Recall notice from supplier. 'Due to a packaging error a small number of packs may have been labelled with an incorrect USE BY DATE'

I must admit I was a little sceptic when I saw the notice.

 

I mean, who tests (routinely) for botulinum these days???

The "Date" being incorrect may be the simple issue.  However, the end effect may well be the Closa botulinum will grow and produce the toxin.  Hence the warning!"
