Dear all,

I'm working on my thesis which is associated with food standars. In one part of my thesis I would like to explore how can the life-cycle concept be adapted to food standard. Along with this question comes the question of what would be the best variable/measure on the ordinate.
Perhaps the variable on the y-axis "number of scheme participants" may be one of the possible options.
If anybody have any ideas/suggestions, please, let me know. I need your help.

Best,
Artur

Dear Artorius,

This all sounds very metaphysical.

You may have to explain what you mean by (a) life style   cycle concept and (b) Food standard.

I think the OP refers to Life Cycle Approach-ie lookiing at  product holistically from the R&D stage through production...packaging .etc....etc... to the final consumer ( Lab to Farm to Fork & possibly back to farm again(recycling)!!!)- it's impacts on energy, enviromment, health etc

(As to the rest of the post- I've no idea at all!)

Ooooooh.

This must be the third time  I've read this, but the first two times I also read it as

Life STYLE instead of life CYCLE and was like "....", thinking it was a psychology paper or some cultural thing, like how Russians know they shouldn't wash off chicken but Americans do it all the time. Americans love SQF but British like BRC.  Or something.

I'm sure you could use that model for a standard - instead of product, price, and distribution, you could use

Scope (packaging, food, animal feed)

# of certified plants

# of auditing bodies

I guess promotion could stay the same?

Dear Mike Green,

Thks for spotting my "read-o".

Sadly i remain equally unenlightened as far as making any useful  response for the OP. I sort of gave up at the Krebs Cycle.
