Good morning from South Africa!  I am currently involved with two factories (same company).  Both needs to do refresher training for their HACCP team members.  The one factory only supplies to the local market and the other one exports to Europe, US, etc.  This factory does have BRC, IFS in place.  What is the measures that I will use to evaluate external companies that will perform this training for us?  I need general aspects for the local market factory, but also more specific for the factory that exports.  Does these trainers need some kind of certification?  Thank you very much in advance for the time you took reading this.

Can I ask why you need the training?

Is it to reinforce/ improve  best practice/performance -or for compliance with external requirements?

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike, the training will only be to reinforce best practice currently in place.  All member already attended training, basically this is refresher training, Regards, Madel

Hi Madel,

That  is excellent ............but. IMO makes it harder to find an external provider!

Basically then-  avoid generic courses at all costs!

I would  also be less concerned with the accreditations and qualifications of the provider and more concerned about what relevant practical experience & knowledge the actual trainer has(not the organisation!).

Invite the trainer to your premises and talk about your processes-you will quickly see if they know their stuff & if they have the personality and interpersonal skills to allow your staff to relate to them

and/or

tell them a bit about your processes/people and ask them to outline a short haccp course that addresses what they believe are the most pertinent issues for your business

and/or

ask them for the names/contact details of companies for whom they have delivered similar training-and call them (any reputable trainer will be happy to do this)

then-only when you are happy- agree the learning outcomes that you want-and have them design a bespoke course for you!

Kind Regards

Mike
