Dear aesahaetr_eldest

Have you tried intensifying your cleaning process and schedule. Making use of disinfenctants after cleaning. Yes vacuum method is better than compressed air blowing but then again your dirt collector and filters need to be emptied and cleaned as much as possible. Also try focusing on blocking the ingress points of pests, sealing doors, wall and ceiling holes, and filtering windows. We did this and our contracted fumigation costs went down. Also try training your guys in-house to be licensed fumigation handlers.

Regards,

km.

Hello,

We had the same issue before. Our supllier was sending popcorn kernels with moths, so, we stopped that by letting the supplier deal with the fumigation and charges, a certification of fumigation is required prior to backing up in our docks. Havent had any issues with it since. But, we are still inspecting it just to make sure.

 Dear aesa

IMO i agree with Ivan, prevention is better then correction. So you have to agree with your supplier to minimize lice infestation. Or the other way you have to discuss with your pest provider to prevent it other then fumigation.

As a past fumigator, you do a few options to a full scale general fumigation. One being smaller scale spot fumigations (bins, conveyors, lines, etc), two being foggings (ddvp and/or pyrethrin) or three and seems to be a growing trend, IGR foggings. I've seen companies switch to IGR foggings and after a few applications be able to stop general fumigations all together. Your sanitation program will also play a huge part in to eliminating the need as well.
