i need to know the difference between CCP / PRP /OPRP

i understand the CCP and it is for critical control point and for it we have critical limit and control measure

but for PRP and OPRP i am confused

what is the difference if i managed the hazard by PRP or OPRP

could you explain by clear example ?

From what I understand,

PRP = Program you have in place,  -  chemical control

oPRP = Operational PRP - a specific control you have that is not a CCP, but is important to ensure a PRP is working - like for the PRP Chemical Control, an oPRP might be a daily Sanitizer concentration check.

It's a pretty common question.  There was an interesting discussion / something from IFSQN on this topic pretty recently, I'll see if I can find you the link.. You might want to check these threads ...

Dear msh3egy,

The difficulty in explaining relates to the fact that the iso22000 standard itself is rather unclear over its specific requirements concerning OPRP.

iso22004 attempts to simplify the problem but with limited success. You should read it.

The practical result is that a variety of solutions exist to produce a "iso22000" compliant haccp plan. These range from very simple to the opposite. Auditors often seem to accept any of the published procedures but i don't know about yr location.

The method you used looks to be an example of a  "very simple"  solution type.  A similar matrix method posted here recently (but perhaps not for ISO22000) divided the options into PRPs / OPRPs / CCPs. (added later, see >

However IMO, as illustrated by quotes in Tony's post, yr method  seems to ignore some of the basic requirements of the standard. These are further discussed in links given by magenta_m in previous post. But  yr basic method may still be locally acceptable for auditorial purposes. There are also a few published ISO 22000 examples similar to yr method but typically using a 3-way split as above link.

I suggest that to understand the difference between PRPs and OPRPs you first study some of the links in previous post.

Or maybe get some professional assistance.
