Hello,

We are attempting to address 5.5 In-line testing and measuring equipment efficiently.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how one can effectively and constructively approach this clause?

I have called my production manager in for a meeting where I intend to develop a procedure for how a system taking care of the specifics in this clause should be developed.

But I know that both he and I are somewhat wary about how to address this one correctly.

Any advise or examples of how you address this clause at your company would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Anne from Denmark

In order to best help you, we are going to need more information, such as what you are making and how you are doing it.

List all of our measuring & testing devices (ex - thermometer or thermocouple, metal detector, scales, anything that measures etc )

List the  acceptable deviation (if you're reading at 50 deg and it's really 52 deg, does that matter to your process? What if it's 43 degrees? etc)

Calibrate them annually - or at frequency determined by risk assessment

Put them on a equipment list with a calibration schedule

Keep certificates

Thanks!

We produce self-adhesive labels.

We have in-line equipment in our production machines - nothing with temperatures though.

Hi Anne,

I am from injection moulding company producing cutlery. In my case, the applicable in-line equipment in the process is the alarm system at the injection moulding machine. So we had testing for the alarm system, either working when the temperature exceed or lower that the set supervisory range temp.
