Hi All,

 

Does anyone have a sample template for the required quarterly trend report for pest control?  I am unclear on what it needs to include or how they want the information presents.  This is food processing facility.  Thanks in advance for any help!

Critical Requirements

4.9.1.6 Pest management personnel review the log each quarter to identify trends in pest activity. A report of
findings is submitted to designated facility personnel.

4.9.1.7 Corrective Actions are documented for identified issues

 

Do you do your own pest control or is it contracted out?

If it's contracted out, ask you PCO to provide you with quarterly trend reports on bait takes, insect activity, light trap takes, etc. If they can't provide these to you, I'd suggest getting another pest control company.

 

If you do pest control in house, or if your PCO will not provide the trend charts, you can do it yourself in Excel.

 

You can get as simple or as complicated as you like. All the auditor wants to see is a chart that shows the activity (or lack thereof) for each of your pest control monitoring stations over time. AND, that if there are issues identified, that there are corrective actions documented.

Thank you for your response! We do our own pest control.  We did something similar to this and the auditor complained it was too complicated.  I guess I need a simplified version.....

Did it meet the intent of the standard? That's really all you should be concerned with.

We track the number of bait blocks replaced on a monthly basis.  It's not hard.  And if you set up an excel spreadsheet with the graph already there, you can change the data sets to display to suit your needs and have a graph that is easy to understand and is flexible.

 

We don't have many pests inside, so the activity in the bait stations outside is a good indication of what's happening at the site.

 

When AIB came, I had the graph for the past 3 years printed out in the section for the weekly pest station checking sheets in my IPM binder, and the inspector loved it.  At a glance she could see when the peak activity occurred.
