Hi colleagues and forum members. Quite impressed with the level of contributions and discussions on this forum. However, any ideas on the best and easiest strategies for implementing the full requirements of ISO 22000 standard in the hospitality industry? Is the standard an overkill for hotels as opposed to the basic HACCP which is familiar? will appreciate hands on experience from the forum please. thank you.

Dear Aliyu Angara,

iso22000 is a complete FS+MS system. HACCP is primarily a FS system.

ISO22000 = (approx) (iso-haccp) + iso9001.

ISO-HACCP is a re-oriented version of Codex-haccp and is also conceptually expanded to incorporate OPRP programs.

Not in the hotel business but I guess "overkill" or not depends on yr particular requirements / situation.

There are a number of hotel-related threads in the iso22000 forum if you search a little. For example this post/thread -

Any hotel users of iso22000 reading this ?

Kind Regards,

Even when you are implementing ISO 22000 in hotel, The biggest challenge is again the HACCP part and surely ISO 22000 is not an overkill. However clause 8 of ISO 22000 becomes nuisance sometimes.
