I am at a loss.  I keep seeing statement regarding food packaging now being an integral part of FSMA.  We as manufacturers are not required to register with the FDA so can anyone please tell me where I can find exactly what I need to be concerned about with FSMA?  I print labels and pouches.  What do I have to do in order to be compiant?

I am involved in packaging as well. From everything I have been reading it is more of a heads up for us. It isn't required yet, but will be soon... That is how I am reading into it.

Here is a good article. Hopefully this will help ya out. It is such a gray area right now that there isn't a whole lot out there that i could find. Would love to find a page that laid it all out there!

Hello,

Brian, the article that you posted above made some sense.  It sounds like as long as you, as a packaging manufacturer, can prove that you have a HACCP plan and are audited by a 3rd party and granted a certificate by that 3rd party you comply.  Does that sound about right?  I understand what you mean by this being a grey area for packaging manufacturers.

We have our IFS PACsecure certification and have all the programs in place.  We require documentation from our supplier also.  I just wish I knew if there was a set plan to follow or guideline for packaging.  If there is and I am missing that please let me know where to find it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
