Hello,

I have a question about risk assessment for BRC. How do you guys set up the risk rating ? Is risk rating before the control or after the contro? Does BRC have specific requirement for that?

Hi kylin,

Not quite sure if you are referring to haccp or in general ? or a specific BRC paragraph ?

For haccp, there are a few threads on this forum discussing such. afaik, the particular risk methodology is up to you although the overall methodology is nominally as per Codex.

The usual basic criterion is that the chosen method must be "logical". And probably validatable.

For general purposes it's presumably entirely up to you unless a relevant Standard paragraph specifies otherwise.

Some user risk assessment strategies are carried out before, some after, some both. afaik BRC do not define except if the above "paragraph" caveat might apply (offhand i can't think of any restrictions).

if you wish to see some commonly used, typical, examples, just search for "risk matrix".

Kind Regards,
