Hi everyone,

Good day!

I am from Philippines and I work to a semicon industry. Our product is printhead (for printers). Currently, we have a single line that caters into food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic application. I have some questions in mind on our GMP certification: By the way, I play the role of ensuring GMP is implemented at the GMP certified line.

The plant's intention only is to be GMP certified, the external auditor gave us PAS 223:2011 as our referenced standard of implementation. Currently, the plant is PAS 223:2011 certified.

Question:

   (1) Is the PAS 223:2011 the right standard to use or there are other any standard we can choose. We only wanted GMP certification and it seems that PAS 22:2011 requirement is aligned with HACCP and ISO 22000. It seems we are having a difficulty in implementation especially on the cost that it involves.

I believe you are all expert on this item.\

thanks,

Sephtimber

Hi Sephtimber,

Thks yr query and Welcome to the Forum ! :welcome:

I'm not in Packaging  field and frankly have no idea what "printhead" is  but the near-standard first response, across industries,  to posts such as yours  is -

What do your customers want ?

You are correct that PAS223 (now iso22002-4) is the basis for GFSI's benchmarking of fssc22000 for food packaging.

PAS223  is probably more demanding than some available alternatives, for example AIB options if they exist for yr "product". Again, any option may depend on yr locally available audit facilities.?

You mention that you are already certified to PAS223 but are having difficulties ? Can you clarify what kind of difficulties ?

Did yr CB suggest any other alternatives ?

Kind Regards,

Charles.C
