Hi Everyone,

Regard to the Appendix 1A item 5 – Management of inputs.

“The organization shall implement a system to assure that analysis of inputs critical to the confirmation of product safety is undertaken. The analyses shall be performed to standards equivalent to those described in ISO 17025.”

If my internal lab should be certified to ISO 17025?

Thank you

Hi Byrlan

It is not necessary that your internal lab should be certified to 17025. You have two options

1. Contract out all product analysis to a lab which is certified to 17025

This will not increase your paper work but cost you significant money

2. Review all your analysis procedures and bring them in compliance with ISO 17025. Ensure all equipment are also calibrated as per this standard.

You need to do some work but will financial savings will be significant and you can talk these savings during your job performance review.

Kind regards
