Hi all,

We are looking to implement a food fraud mitigation strategy for VACCP and we have over 200 different suppliers which will make it difficult to sustain.

Would anyone know of an organisation(s) who send Food fraud alerts through email, preferably with no cost?

Thanks,

Aiko

Hi Aiko

The USDA sends email alerts, you can submit to their website and select the information you need alerts for (link below).

For VACCP you will need access to data about things that have already happened and also access to information about future or predicted threats (sometimes called horizon scanning).

Here are some databases to access historical data:

Email alerts via subscription service:

  • Leatherhead Food Research is a private food safety research organisation located in the United Kingdom.  Members can access a range of information related to food fraud incidents and can subscribe to an email alert service.  https://www.leatherh...your-fingertips
  • Some trade associations provide email services to members.
  • Government-run food safety and food regulatory bodies in some jurisdictions send emails to interested parties.  Contact your local authority for more information.
  • Horizon Scan Reports are an easy and cost effective way to identify and analyse future and emerging threats from food fraud.

More information about each database and how to use the alerts within your VACCP system can be found on this page http://www.foodfraud...ing-food-fraud/

You can also set up an alert in Google Alerts.
