Hi all,

I'm still trying to work out which accreditation is best for our factory - I've compared the actual regs' but what about cost?

I know it will vary but ball park figures would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance

It depends from various data (company size, type of production, number of HACCP plans, number of process lines etc.). It is very hard to estimate the price.

Depending on certificate this is also interesting to know:

BRC is certified each year and that means that the price is same every year (price depends also if the auditor is from other country or from your).

FSSC is certified on first year and for next two years surveillance audits are performed (price is lower for surveillance audits).

In some cases if you compare total amount of money needed you can be certified according to FSSC for 4 years and for the same amount BRC for 3 years.

Regarding price, the best way is to contact few certification bodies and to get the offers with more details.

I hope i helped you...

Hi,

I really only want a ball part figure - we are a med sized factory that re-packs cake decoration items, food colour/ paste and sugar decorations. We also mix and pack sugar paste and cake mixes.

We already sell to Europe, USA , South Africa, Hong Kong and across the UK but would like to be certified so we can sell to supermarkets in the UK.

we would need to have food and storage and distribution -

Cost of course will be a consideration when choosing which to go for as well as what our customer would prefer.

Anyone else have more advice?

Thanks

BRC may remove some of the other audits that may be necessary each year as well.  It cut down our audits from 7 to 3 which helps.
