I am updating our HACCP master plan for the company, and would like some up to date information on Glass and Hard Plastic in food processing factories.

Our Company was recently audited and it was suggested that we update our Glass and Hard Plastic register, so I innocently starting looking around for information. That's how I ended up finding IFSQN.

That aside I've found one Glass, Hard Plastic and Wood Program dated 2009 by Taylor & Francis Group, which seems good, but I thought there might be something out there a bit more recent. I contacted HACCP Australia but they charge $AUD400 for their information, so I am obviously looking elsewhere. If all else fails I will use the one I found.

Hi foodpac,

This is the forum to go to for free information!

To what food safety standard was your business audited to?  This may assist fellow readers to what information may be provided to you.

Your glass and hard plastic policy, procedure and record sheet can be quite detailed or simplified, depending on the criteria requirements of the food safety standard you follow.

Our company's industrial instrument is the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award, We were audited by SGS, and also by one of our largest customers. We primarily process mangoes, into either aseptic or frozen puree, slices and diced product. We also process pineapples and avocado.

We were audited for "Processing of tropical fruit, specialising in size reduction, frozen puree, pasteurised and aseptic products".

Hi foodpac,

I deduce that the Audit referred in Post 6 prompted yr desire to "update" yr current Glass and Hard Plastic Register.

To reiterate Post 3, can you clarify what prompted the auditor's suggestion, eg not aligned to items in yr production area ?

PS - sorry, I missed yr comment in Post 4 first time around

PPS - if not confidential you might consider attaching yr current Register for comments.
