Hi!!!

 

I need some inputs, our internal audit is fast approaching, hope you can help me on this one

 

Previously our facility is renting a cold storage, now it's purchased and will be under one management.  The facility is located outside the main processing plant.  I just want an additional inputs if during the calculation for the audit mandays, is the cold storage be separated or to be included as one facility during calculation.

the short answer is yes it should be included in calculating the  audit duration. You should also have monitoring data available  for the auditor to demonstrate that the facility was operating as planned and any repair carried out on the cold storage. You also need to have calibration data preferably from a third party so auditor would be satisfied that you are doing every thing possible to ensure that the facility is maintained at all time.

Good morning.  We recently just completed our 3rd BRC audit and this was the first one since we opened our own cold storage facility at another location.  It was entirely our choice as to whether or not to include that location in our audit scope.  We chose not to and the auditor was fine with that.  Your call but why pay more money for the audit than you need to.
