Alittle bit of background- I currently serve as the new SQF practitioner for a SQF level 2 certified pet food manufacturer. We are currently looking at technologies for operational and process improvement. One such technology we are looking into is the SQF Sentinel software for the automation of some record keeping activities such as temperature logs, and metal detector logs.

 

Now for the real questions-

 

1). Has anyone here used SQF Sentinel? If so would you recommend this product? was it a sound investment?

 

2). Does anyone know of any other software similar to SQF Sentinel? If so what are the pros and cons of utilizing this software over SQF Sentinel?

 

Any information that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

We are installing SQF Sentinel for our cheese making operation - it is a turn-key solution and as an SQF Consultant we have several clients using the same system and are very happy.

 

Sentinel does a lot more than just handling some logs, etc.  Contact Robert White at Focus-Works for a demo.

 

There are several others such as SafeFood360 - but for SQF specifically they pall in comparison.

 

And from a price standpoint, hands down winner is Sentinel.

SQFconsultant, you mention that SQF Sentinel has the best pricing, hands-down...what kind of price point are we talking about here?  $20 a month?  $200 a month?  I realize that you may not be able to give me an exact figure....but at least a range of what you've seen?  We're a very small company with only about 5 users; would this potentially be well-suited for us?

The price is sliding in the nunber of options you would need/installation by Focus works or if you just need a basic DIY which is what we are planning on installing.

Hi all,

 

I have never used SQF Sentinel but like you,  I did my homework and demo many electronic Food Safety Management software systems. Readying yourself for SQF certification is in itself a huge undertaking however having a reliable software system guiding you along to compliance is an enormous stress reliever!!
