We bought the IFSQN set for SQF very recently so I don't have a firm opinion of the value yet. I can say that so far I've noticed that you can't just change the header for one document and have it apply to every document. I've also noticed that the documents don't reference SQF practitioner as the person in charge, which leads me to believe that IFSQN took the generic set for GFSI and stuck SQF in the title rather than adapting it specifically to SQF.

I found the IFSQN templates to be very helpful. They are generic but easily changed to fit your company. There is some wording differences between Europe and the United States but if you take your time and look through carefully they work well. I ended up copying and pasting most of them to our company header and then changing what needed to be changed. To me they saved a lot of time as I finished our manuals in a few weeks rather than a few months. The only caution I will give you is some of them are redundant. But like anything else they need to be tailored to your operation. I have not seen the edition 8 documents yet...this was all for 7.2

Thanx, I'm sure they will help. I just didn't get the feeling they were optimized for SQF instead of BRC or ISO.

thank you... are the templates found on this site? I can add anything that is from edition * and change wording to match edition 8 since our company is looking to get certified in 2018.

Each of the documentation packages is written specifically for the standard in question (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000 etc.) and also for the particular segment of the food chain (food, packaging, storage an distribution etc.). They include procedures, records, templates that meet all of the requirements and they are fully editable for your particular product/process.  They are also updated to the latest version of the standard so in the case of SQF Version 8.

You can find the SQF packages here.

Regards,

Simon

Thank you Ken and Adam for your comments and feedabck.

The SQF Practitioners role is described in detail in QM 2.1.2 Management Responsibility and matched to a job title, thereafter the documents refer to a job title (Technical Manager). Job titles and responsibilities vary from organisation to organisation and the expectation is that these will need to be edited which is one of the reasons why the documents are unlocked and provided in Microsoft Word format. The documents are intended to be edited individually, there aren't macros to link all the documents as they tend to be disliked by anti-virus software.

The package is very much SQF specific and documents are matched to the clauses of the SQF Code for ease of implementation.

The SQF Package is very popular and since it launch has been purchased by close to 300 customers. The current version of the package is edition 8, attached is the product brochure with details of the contents of the package:

Kind regards,

Tony
