Hi,

One of my customers with whom I was successfull in obtaining an BRC certificate, was unsuccesfull in an appeal with the notified body for 2NC's with whom they were not ok with.

Since there were some strange issues during the audit and part of the audit had to be redone by another auditor, my customers wants to evaluate if there are other steps they can take to challenge the appeal procedure. Are there any possibilities?

Hi bsagaert,

:welcome:

Welcome to the IFSQN forums.

The standard refers to appeals regarding the certification decision:

7.4 APPEALS

The company has the right to appeal the certification decision made by the certification body and any appeal should be made in writing to the certification body within 7 calendar days of receipt of the certification decision.

Individual certification bodies’ documented appeals procedures will be made available to the site on request.

If you want to appeal you need to be quick and you will want a copy of the certification bodies’ documented appeals procedure which may be more informative.

If the NC's have not affected the audit grade then it is less of an issue.

Kind regards,

Tony

HI,

If the CB refuses the appeal as Tony said, you can directly feedback to BRC Compliance Manager and then she will investigate this and feedback formally.

Cheers,
