Hello,
We have an stainless steel active carbon filter and we do a weekly sterilization with hot water ~100 celsius for 5min.
But recently we have a pseudomona contamination in the filter. I wanted to know if its possible to clean the carbon with caustic soda, and if so; at which temperature and concentration?. Would it have adverse effects on the carbon life?

Your 100C sterilization should take care of things....have you tried just extending the time interval that you do your normal heat treatment?
