At first glance I was thinking that your auditor was being difficult but a quick search shows that this is a more common problem.

Seems like finding any documentation from your lubricant supplier that says its allergen free should suffice.  Include it in your allergen risk assessment too.

Hi mile ,

This product is NSF approved and resisted (letter attached ) , also the link is below

http://info.nsf.org/...ters/139625.pdf

as per "An introduction to best-practice lubrication procedures in the food industry" from the BRC  P 4 &5  : "There are few recognised independent assessment schemes for lubricants. One method is to establish whether the lubricant is formulated using ingredients that are listed in, for example, the FDA (United States Food & Drug Administration) Chemicals Register (Code of Federal Regulations Title 21). Ingredients listed in this register are deemed suitable for use in the manufacture of food-grade lubricants, and these finished lubricants are then usually classified by the NSF International as follows:

• NSF H1 Acceptable as a lubricant for ‘incidental contact applications in and around food processing areas’"

in your TDS you can share it with he auditor also as it dose not contain allergen as thew below statement

"Supertac Food Grade Grease H-1 is compounded from a unique blend of the highest quality, highly refined and purified non-toxic pure paraffin base technical white and USP grade white oils and polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluids available. Blended into the paraffin base technical white USP grade white oils and PAO synthetic base fluids is an aluminum complex base thickener, adhesive/cohesive additives, a food grade antimicrobial agents and other selected performance additives."

also you can contact the supplier and ask  hum for a letter about the allergen status :

It's a very common question and normally resolved by asking the supplier.  I've not come across a recent lubricant which has contained nut oils or similar but perhaps it was a problem in the past. Nowadays about 80% of them state it in the standard documentation.
