I require a bit of assistance understanding clause 5.2.1 -

"All products shall be labelled to meet legal requirements for the designated country of use and shall include information to allow the safe handling, display, storage, preparation and use of the product..."

We export our product, both bulk and retail packaging, from Canada to many other countries (in some cases where english isn't the first language).

How are we to meet the requirements of this clause in terms of understanding all other countries labelling requirements with respect to allergen statements, nutritional info, ingredient lists etc?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

IMEX the answer has to come from the importer / customer. Often the appropriate artwork too.

Thanks again, Charles.

So the best approach would be to have a statement that the labelling requirements are left to the importer/customer of that specific country?

Hi Buggy,

I'm not sure what above "statement" is for but IMEX the labelling/artwork requirements for your manufactured/labelled product would need to be approved by the intended importer/customer. This is a sort of compromise to clause 5.2.4

If the statement is for a "Product Specification", the typical wording is similar to clause 5.2.1

Kind Regards,
