We have to do micro testing for our product for our IMS certification and environmental monitoring.  Since we are also SQF certified IS? the lab we use for this required to be ISO 17025 certified?  There is some debate within management.

2.5.4.3 (Manufacturing Code) Where external laboratories are utilized to conduct input or product analysis, the laboratories shall be accredited to ISO 17025 or an equivalent national standard, and shall be included on the site's contract service specifications register (refer to 2.3.3.1).

Yes, I lost a point because of this.  Our water sampling was done by a company that gets audited by the state, but was not ISO 17025 certified.  Same goes for micro testing.

I deduce from IMS web-page that 17025 accreditation (certification?) exists. So the debate would anyway appear to be not meaningful ?

Kind Regards,
