Hello All,

I need some guidance on the following (SQF):

We are a bakery (SQF level 2) and in our packaging area, there are two packaging lanes, and the owner wants to add the labeling equipment in that room (will add it to the room). We would have to control the plastic/glass of the computer screen on a monthly log. We would control the people going to the computer (three individuals only). Run a risk analysis where they place the computer. Any else i should worry about??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You.

I would certainly add this as a step in your flow process as well as address it in your haccp / preventative control plan.

Whether these things add to your glass / brittle plastic register would depend on your hazard analysis but I would tend to say 'yes'.

I'd also make sure there's a procedure so that those that handle labels and ink are NOT handling food product.

It seems like you've got those covered.

The only other thing I can think of offhand is that the label area and computer and printers should be added to the Sanitation Schedule so they don't become a hazard.
