YUM ROTAP Sieve Requirements

Quick Question. Does YUM! require calibration certificates (if that's the right word) for ROTAP sieves? I'm trying to come up with evidence that the mass of the sieves does not change. That way when technicians record retain weight for each sieve all they have to do is subtract out the standard weight of each sieve from retained weight to get the amount of product retained on the sieve. This is what we did at other companies I've worked for. We also verified that openings in the sieves were not warped and damaged periodically. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I guess you may want sieve calibration depending on the criticality of the test, some info:

Although the calibration seems to be more about confirming sieve size rather than weight so a specification and inspection may be adequate.

 

In this case it would seem that the scale calibration and checking is the important factor.

IMEX even bronze checkweights lose some mass over time. Stainless less so.

But, assuming undamaged, and dry function only, any loss will surely be minimal unless long periods are involved ?

I guess it's easy enough to check if insignificant with respect to the subsequent calculation.

 

PS - must admit i have no idea what a rotap sieve is.
