Hi,

We're a dry spices distribution and packaging company, and while we have a contracted food service industry approved pest control service (Terminix), we're not totally satisfied with them. Anyone have any recommendations for other companies, and warnings to stay away from any others? And if you don't mind adding a few points as to what you like or don't like about them?

Thanks.

Erlich/Steritech is good. Used them for quite a few years. Their online portal for service reports/recommendations/trend charts is pretty good.

Using Industrial Fumigant Company now. (Florida). Have had no issues with them at all.

That's great! Thank you so much for asking for me! I'll forward it to my boss to look into switching over to them.

Do you mind me asking how big your company is? We're a small business of about 7 employees and a 10,000 sqft warehouse, so I just wanted to compare what type of services we might need?

Sprague/Copesan is awesome for audits because they provide a web portal with trending etc.

But warning, if you actually have pest problems the techs aren't entomologists are are mostly useless. They perform inspections, maintenance, and records but you will need to work with Sprague corporate or another source for problem solving strategies for elimination. In short, awesome for maintenance of a program, not awesome if you ever deal with infestations.

Dear Stharayil,

In addition to the very interesting information from the other members, please find a link toward some tips to improve your pest prevention program (one of them is indeed to switch from the service provider, in the case you aren't totally satisfied).

We've used Terminix in Ontario, Canada and also not been completely satisfied.  I've used Orkin at several companies and have found them to be professional and reliable.

LindaALaw---Sentinel out of K-W---second to none....mcuh smaller sized opearation that Orkin et all, but still have a wireless integrated inspection system with e copies of signed inspection reports....will always be there for an audit if need be and will come when you ask them to...so if 3 am makes more sense, then 3 am it is.  They are 2 professionals that didn't want to work for someone else and started their own company. I wish I could use them at current post, but too far out of their travel area

I'm on the opposite coast but can tell you when looking for pest companies I think accessibility of reaching a tech is huge. I also prefer when I have the same technician because they have a better knowledge of my space from repeat visits and can work with you to help address any potential opportunities for improvement. Online portals with reports and quarterly trending is good for audits as well.
