Hi

Please can anyone help with this section (the cleaning chemical residue section in particular). At the end of this clause it states that 'Where cleaning procedures are part of a defined pre requisite plan to control the risk a specific a hazard (e.g. allergens) the cleaning and disinfection procedures and frequency shall be validated and records maintained. This shall include the risk from cleaning chemical residues on food contact surfaces'

It is the section at the end 'This shall include the risk from cleaning chemical residues on food contact surfaces' that I am asking about.

How has anyone else done this? do you send away product after cleaning? do you swab? what do you test for? etc

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks

W

Hi,

You should Validated your (sanitation) cleaning by doing ATP swabs or allergens testing after cleaning your equipment, frequency: as need (after a full cleaning).

And product testing for that specific allergen if is any in your plant that can be a concern.

Dear Whitney,

A simple way to do verification, is the use of test papers. You need to do some research or to contact your supplier to find the ones, which are adapted to your cleaning and disinfection agents.

They change of colour when detecting low levels of residues.

I hope this helps you further!

Kind regards,

Ahem, I think the query was with regard to possibility of Cleaning Chemical Residues.

The options may relate to what cleaner(/sanitizer?) you are using (?).

See this thread -

and perhaps this link -
