Sorry I've not posted this sooner - better late than never though....!

Last April (2007) we achieved 22k certification at Amcor Flexibles Crompton Road.
It is understood that we are (were) one of the first packaging firms to gain certification against this standard, although I am not sure whether this claim has changed much over the past year?

Hey Bonno, congratulations. Why did you go for 22k was it customer pressure, vanity or your deep love of procedure writing? By the way you are welcome to a free lisitng in our directory. If it's of interest let me know and I'll send you details.

Anyway it's good to hear from you, I hope you're keeping well.

Hi Simon

EWOS is a global fish feed producer (salmon, trout, cod) and is a part of the Cermaq group where Mainstram is the fish farming company. UFAS is just another standard we have to comply with in Scotland. I'll give you some short details:

The Food Safety Act 1990 was introduced to ensure the exercise of due diligence throughout the food chain. Coupled with the recently introduced Feed Hygiene Regulations, which focus on traceability, it demonstrates the importance of Quality Assurance.

As a result, UFAS (Universal Feed Assurance Scheme) has developed over the last five years and runs alongside a wider initiative for livestock organised by Assured British Meat (ABM) and Assured Food Standards (AFS).

UFAS covers the production and delivery of compound feeds and the supply of feed materials to the farm.

This also applies to fish...

Dear Anbor,

Thks for the interesting information.

"Assurance" I can understand but the inclusion of the word "assured" in the other titles seems rather strange to me. Why would it/they be otherwise ? Borrowed from Banking maybe.

I think the KISS theory applies here. It shows even on here there are still a myriad of standards that we (I) don't know about. Thanks for enlightening us AnBor. :welcome:

Dear Simon,

Thank you so much... I will seek for it Simon, as my little help to the Sales and Marketing Dept. :) And sure I'll contact you if I need somethin.

To AS Nur: Thank you very much. Hummm, I dunno for sure, but most of Seasoning and Ingredients company in here is ISO 9001 and HACCP certified. Maybe they dont need the ISO 22k for the moment. But I still don't dare to claimed as the first seasoning company in Indonesia that achieved ISO 22k. Not enough data... :(

Arya

I did not see in the discussion PT. Centralpertiwi Bahari, integrated shrimps farming business established in Lampung, Indonesia.

The scope of the certification is its shrimps processing division (2 plants, with High Care facilities - raw and cooked shrimps).

The CB was ProCert (a swiss CB) in September 2007. I guess it was the first shrimps processing business to be certified in the World.

Best regards,

Remi
