I have read in the standard, that the following must be appointed:

1. food safety team leader,
2. Food safety Team
3. Person responsible for withdrawal and recalls
4. Person responsible for verification of PRP

What are other appointments required?

Hi All,

What if ISO 9001:2015 has been established with SWOT & Stakeholder Analysis, are they usable for ISO 22000:2018 ? or any criteria I have to mention specifically for FSMS ?

you can use the same swot for multiple management systems so you have an integrated management system swot analysis. It just becomes larger with more strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities. Your FSSC 22000 swot analysis would look at SWOT for anything that could affect food safety.

For instance an external threat could be that your facility uses a lot of ingredient manufacturers that have not undergone a full supplier verification process which could cause food safety hazards within the manufacturing plant. This could also be a threat of legal citations for not having a full supplier verification process

An opportunity: investigate external suppliers who have been audited by third parties to a relevant management system to mitigate the likelihood of food safety risks, etc.

A strength: longevity of employees with strong focus on complying with food safety and GMP compliance

A weakness: Internal traceability processes are not fully developed to ensure a quick and adequate recall response

These are just examples

Hi,

Can you pls give some examples in hotel context?

Depends on your hotel but

Weakness

Hotel infrastructure, and piping is outdated and will require a lot of updating

Strength

Pricing is competitive; features are broader giving an edge to competition

Threat

Pandemics and other outbreaks such as COVID-19 could negatively impact the sales of the business

Opportunity

Review competitors ratings to determine what customers like and determine how your facility can compete with more features

Hi Paul,

What assessment matrix did you use?

Are you asking for the ranking numbers and associated criteria?

I just threw together some ratings; you can adjust based on your own rubric and guidelines

Please help if you can, according to opportunities. How do we proceed hence we dont want to migitate but to enhance. How does opportunity work in the template?

Thanks

I have updated the matrix with some new sheets which might help.

I also added a simple rating matrix; keep in mind that when rating something it doesn't always follow a clear cut written criteria (and there are thousands of risk criteria). You will have to think about your specific impacts and rank them in light of how severe they are to your company. This is just a general guide

You can adjust the columns in RO Log to match that of the RO Log (NEW) or just use the RO Log (New)

Edit: reattached with more information on risk and rating

You can separate if you want but you don't have to. If you want you can put a (Q) or (FS) after to show that differentiation, but sometimes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats overlap into both Q&FS or whatever management systems you are certified to
