Short answer - yes.

Performing auditors for suppliers, etc are different than Internal Audits. I would also suggest having this person take some formal training in Internal Auditing, however that is not a requirement.

Hope that was what you were looking for. Good Luck!

Hii All,

I have a question, an IRCA certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor can do a internal audit on FSSC-22000 standard or he can not.

Any employee is allowed to perform Internal Audits, but it’s suggested that they get some additional Internal Audit training. Lead auditing and Internal Adutis have differences that some more training would help with.

But being a Lead Auditor would put them ahead of the game so to speak in your case.

Hii Ryan,

But my question is if a lead auditor is certified for doing audits on ISO 9001:2015 standard, can he do the internal audit on FSSC-22000 standard also?

Hello,

IMO, if you have training of on IA,training on food safety and legality and experience, you can do Internal Audit. No specific standard that you have undergone training. But, it is better he knows the standard that he uses for IA.

IMO, Yes, because the audit process is the same, on the condition that there is prior knowledge, interpretation and implementation of FSSC 22000 standard.
