Dear Simon,

As a member of the Institute of Packaging, I read the IOP`s recent newsletter about "changes" to the Standard planned later this year.
I have tried to get clarification from the IOP however the person in the know is in a meeting. When I know more I will post the information.
In the meantime does anyone have any ideas as to what these "changes" may be?
Incidentally I have been onto the BRC website (www.brc.org.uk) but no mention of any changes.

:uhm:

Dear Simon,

I understand there is a draft revision of the BRC/IOP Technical Standard which will address a number of minor technical issues/contradictions as well as incorporating it into a "Global Standard" and consequently addressing such issues as Legislation in the various countries etc.
The Technical Advisory Group sit next on 6 July to discuss the Final Draft and thereafter the publication date of the revised Standard will be in September this year.
Be prepared to part with your hard earned cash.
On a more serious note, should anyone have anything they wish to be considered then they should contact their Certification body to voice their views/concerns before 6 July.

Regards,

Simon

OK thanks for that Phil. You can also add your comments / concerns as we carry out our own review of the standard right here on the discussion forums (see above). We're looking at section 4 of the standard at the moment.

Regards,
Simon
