With new legislation on traceability coming on board in January 2005, the food industry is under pressure to update its processes to comply with new regulations. Companies within the food industry are facing a number of changes in the coming months. Technological innovations such as RFID and legislation such as the soon-to-be introduced EU traceability regulations are both on the way, and experts say the industry needs to fundamentally update its process and systems.
