Speaker Bio:
I spent 20 years as a chef in the UK before deciding to change careers. I gained a BSc in Environmental Health from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2015 and spent the next two years with the Food Standards Agency in Wales in the Local Authority Support and Audit team. I emigrated to Canada with my wife and then 2-year old son in November of 2017 and found employment with the Allergen Control Group. With ACG I was responsible for reviewing Gluten-Free Certification Program audit reports, Gluten-free label approvals and providing support to GFCP customers, auditors and CBs with regard to interpretation of the Standard. ACG were acquired by BRCGS in mid-2018 and since then I have continued in this role but have expanded my knowledge base to be able to provide support for Food Safety Issue 8, Agents & Brokers and the Plant-Based standards.
