Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, SQFI Technical Affairs, the Compliance Manager will develop, manage and grow the company's SQFI "best practice" compliance program, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures for all functions and global business entities.

 

The scope of the role includes oversight of the SQFI auditors, consultants, trainers, certification body and suppliers with regards to program compliance. Specifically, the Compliance Manager will provide routine policy interpretation and requirements, compliance risk assessments, trend analysis and best practice recommendations; develop project objectives and targets; collect data; provide project documentation; train staff; monitor internal audit program progress; prepare, review and update investigations and recommendation reports; obtain, update and maintain standard operating procedures; prepare training materials and develop and administer regularly scheduled audit, inspection, and sampling techniques to monitor and ensure compliance with standard practices; make formal presentations to corporate management; conduct compliance audits and direct and participate in Compliance Review Committee meetings.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in the administration compliance of GFSI benchmarked schemes, a relevant college degree (preferably in food Science, business management or a related field); experience resolving compliance and regulatory issues in collaboration with agencies and public interest groups; great communication, interpersonal and writing skills; strong public speaking/presentation skills and an understanding of, and prior experience in the field of food safety certification and an extensive knowledge of Microsoft (2010) software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be self-directed with excellent time and project management skills and an ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail and with minimal supervision. Knowledge and previous experience working with the Repositrak system is a plus! The position also requires travel throughout the United States and abroad.
