How to prevent chemical used for tinning from contaminating food?

How to test tin (metal) used for kalai / tinning whether it is fit for kalai on copper and brass patila and lagans etc. What are the parameters to check after tinning the food containers?
Is there any procdure for this? Please let me know about this. :dunno:
