Hi!

I have no experience in the food industry other than eating! I am in the packaging industry, and a customer has asked us to become HACCP certified. If you have any information that might help he, I would appreciate it.

Hi Bpspin,

My best advice would be for you to open the front door of your factory, walk through it and keep walking and whatever you do don’t look back. Well that’s the way I and many more quality managers felt a few years back when “HACCP for Packaging” first raised its head. Fortunately for you we have a few years experience now so we can help you.

There are lots of documents and discussion on the website and forum that can help you to build a HACCP system, but in the first instance I recommend you read the web page below. It will give you a primer on HACCP and also an overview of how HACCP (that has its roots firmly in the food industry) can be applied in a packaging context.

After that if you have any further questions or you need help or advice on what to do next please feel free to ask. On that it is always helpful if you can give us as much background as possible about your products and processes and your country of operation, customers, standards you already work to or are registered to etc.

Oh by the way welcome to the forums.

:welcome:

Simon
