Hello,
I am wondering has anybody heard what the current status of the S 510 Food Moderization Act. My organization has hired me to prepare them for the coming changes to the current FDA requirements. I have attached a comparison of the two proposed Acts to the current FDA requirements. Thank you.:bye:

It was put on the shelf by the Senate until after the November elections. It got a little push from the Egg Recall but it seems there were to many questions left in the latest revision.

The comparison you have is from 2009 and a lot of changes were made to the bill. The focus has been on the Durbin proposal. You may want to look up the current revision.

There is also a thread in the "Food Safety Discussion" forum under "Salmonella & Egg Recall Hearing" with some information.

Latest update has the bill being pushed again. The BPA ban was dropped (much to Feinstein's dismay since she was hoping to bypass the existing process and get something banned that has FDA approval. If it needs banned, use the current channels and get it done, don't create new rule to get what you want through the back door) so it seems to have more support again.

Hi,

I came accross this posting and  I noticed that the attachment was drafted in 2009. Do you know if there is a recent or revised comparison chart ?

Thanks!
