According to news on internet, more than 1,000 people were feared dead after a monster tsunami unleashed by a massive quake which wreaked destruction across northeast Japan. The towering wall of water generated by the 8.9-magnitude earthquake -- the seventh biggest in history -- pulverised the northeastern city of Sendai, where police Friday reportedly said that 200-300 bodies had been found on the coast. Kyodo News said the final death toll was likely to pass 1,000. The 10-metre (33-foot) wave of black water sent shipping containers, cars and debris crashing through the streets of Sendai and across open farmland, while a tidal wave of debris-littered mud destroyed everything in its path. More than eight million homes lost power, mobile and landline phone systems broke down for many and gas was cut to more than 300,000 homes, meaning many people could not heat their dark homes during a terrifying and cold night.

I request to all members of IFSQN to please pray to God for the prompt relief to the injured and helpless people of effected areas of Japan. May God help them to start their normal lives again as earliest as possible (Amen).

Dear Zeeshan,
I would like to join your prayer and to add, that we should also start praying for our own health, if all dammaged reactors will explode... God help all of us

The world is beautiful, but she can be very cruel...and then we silly humans make things worse.

I'm not religious so I won't add to the prayers but my thoughts are with the people in Japan. My husband worked in Japan for a summer when he was a student and said how often he would feel mini earthquakes.

These feel like frightening times.

Those interested to help out by donation can contact your local Redcross.

Or you can also purchase solar light bulbs (manufactured by Nokero) for them, as they have power shortage now and some of them have difficulty getting hold of batteries.

Let's hope they pull through this disaster and recover ASAP...
