I split the meandering discussions off into their own topics Charles.
I'm all for discussion and questions, but please try to stay on topic.

Answer the poll and if you like comment on how your are involved with GFSI standards.

Jim, I'm guessing from your post and your "interests" as described in your profile you are seeing the glass as half empty right now.

So far the topic has 447 views and 21 votes. That's less than a 5% take up rate. I suppose for most surveys 5% is quite a good result, but considering all you have to do is click a field and submit it must be very low.

Anyway the results so far are quite conclusive with all respondents confirming they are involved with GFSI Standards.

You still have time to vote if you've not already.

Simon

Not sure how to 'vote'. Yes, I am involved with SQF, a GFSI scheme. I am a consultant and a trainer in this system.

What is the point of the survey?

Hello Simon,
Been providing consultations on GFSI mainly under BRC-Food and FSSC22000 for a fair while now. Comparatively, BRC-v6 is a pretty demanding standard but its realistic given today's continuous rise in global food poisoning statistics. It seems a dead end when you have "Science versus Science" whichever angle you are coming from.

Cheers,
Charles Chew

What is the point of the survey?

Hi Bob, you have already voted, so maybe that is why you cannot do it. Or maybe since posting you have found out how to do it. Anyway the point of the survey is just to get a better understanding of our members position in relation to GFSI standards. It may help us as we develop the site resources also. To be honest I could have made an educated guess on the result based on the discussions that take place here on a daily basis. Another benefit of the survey is it has encouraged members to share a little about their roles and goals. Forums and websites use surveys to stimulate discussion and interest and we haven't used the survey feature enough in the past. I have found it interesting so far.

I hope that answered your question Bob.

Simon

I recieved a 404 error when attempting to answer the poll. *shrugs*

No. We are not currently participating in GFSI in a formal capacity. I did take a HACCP/SQF training session with the plant GM, but we did not take the testing. I appreciate his commitment to food safety, but unfortunately he and the senior management decided that it was not practical to pursue SQF certification at this time. Our HACCP is solid though!

Dear Sunny,

Sorry about 404. From memory usually means something is temporarily "not quite right" somewhere. Since there hv seemingly been no other similar comments, the usual suggestion is to try again later, preferably after logging out then logging in again.
Other possible oddities do occasionally occur, eg unable to login at all. (may need to clear browser cache). I personally use a ffox script protection system which unfortunately permanently blocks the automatic login option (no solution found as yet).

Glad to hear that your HACCP is solid. I hope that includes some external validation.
