Please could anyone give me some advice on what documents will be needed with regards to product traceability for a BRC audit?

We are using SQF, BUT and this depends on what you are recalling--packaging, raw ingredients, or finished product, you will need to know what you are tracking, so any incoming documents with date codes, where and what product of yours they were used, and where that product went.

One step back, one step forward is the basic goal.

So, if you have an egg ingredient that tested for Salmonella, you'd need to have the documentation of where it came from, how you isolated that lot, where it was used and where that product is now.

Also you would need to have any contacts for where the final product went. Distribution Centers, stores, further processing centers, etc.

I hope that is helpful!

Hi,

For BRC audit, the traceability test itself will test the links from raw materials to finisihed products. But it is often used for a lot of checks :

- Suppliers of raw materials, evaluation of those suppliers

- Technical datasheets, and control on delivery of raw materials

- Production scheme

- Process checks (cleaning, CCP, glass, metal,...)

- Clients, Technical data sheet of finished product, ...

- Control on loading and on delivery,...

- Medical screening and training of people who signed the documents

- ...

So the test can be the source for a lot of documents, like all registrations needed for the BRC.

Hi emuthee,

You really should try a search. There are numerous responses to numerous near identical queries on this forum.

I also wondered if you were seeking a response for BRC.

Kind Regards,
